One of the key parts of our vision as a church is to bless our community. We love Port Glasgow and know what a key role Christians and churches have played throughout its history, continue to do today, and also the part we can play moving into Port Glasgow’s future. As Port Glasgow approaches its 250th anniversary in 2025, our little church community of Beacon Community Church aim to be a blessing to others in the town.

Jesus spoke a lot in his time on earth about the kingdom of God. When we pray ‘thy kingdom come’ in Port Glasgow, what would that look and feel like in 2024? His kingdom is one of restoration, of peace, of wholeness, forgiveness and justice.
In his kingdom, the first shall be last, the broken are blessed, we love our neighbour and every person is valued as a marvel of his creation.
We love that we can see the values of God’s kingdom at work in the town and we try to join in with what he is doing and help others to see something of his light. How do we do that? Usually with a lot of laughter, listening, encouraging words, giving gifts, silliness and reliance on the Holy Spirit. We love to spend time in our community, though our free Easter egg trail for families, leaving stones with encouraging messages and pictures, giving out free Christmas gifts to strangers in the street and hampers to bless our brilliant local businesses, giving words and cards of encouragement to those we meet, always with time to listen, to laugh, to thank and to value the amazing people of our town. We also love to join in with and encourage all the great events, activities and support that so many organisations and individuals offer throughout the year in Port Glasgow, there are so many people with a heart for others and the town, making a positive difference and displaying those kingdom values. There are so many ways to be a blessing in our community, feel free to join us, have a chat when you see us out and about, share your ideas and let us know how we can be a blessing to you.,
